SILENT AUCTION
 
Sixteen Isle of Wight Arts League artists have collaborated in reproducing “Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose”(John Singer Sargent, 1885-6) with each artist creating a six inch by six inch square portion of the painting, interpreting the masterwork in their own style and in their favorite medium.  The completed work is now on display and offered by Silent Auction through 4 pm on June 30, 2024 to raise funds for the operation of the Arts Center @ 319. IN THE GALLERY: “Location, Location, Location”. Twelve regional artists painted ‘on location’ in and around Smithfield on April 13, 2024.  This exhibit contains 27 of those finished and framed artworks for your viewing and purchasing pleasure. Beginner/Intermediate Introduction to Acrylics Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 1 to 3 PM
Instructor: Athena A. Rhodes
 
Learn to paint with acrylics on canvas with three consecutive 2-hour sessions.  No Experience Necessary! You will learn basic techniques of color mixing, brushwork and more, all suited to the featured painting. Learn the basics of acrylic painting or continue to build your skills. ​​
 
This class is for students 16 years old and over. ​Class Fee is $75 for Members ($85 for Non-members) plus a Materials fee of $25.  All paint, canvas and brushes supplied by instructor. Instructor will provide a color photo reference for students to paint from in class. Minimum required to hold class:  4, Maximum:  8 students.  Please register by June 16, 2024. Mixed Media Paper Paintings Workshop

Learn the art of creating a colorful painting using acrylics, various papers and glue on canvas board with three consecutive 3-hour sessions.  No Experience Necessary! Create a unique piece for the June Mixed Media Exhibit in the Arts Center @ 319. ​​This class is for students 16 years old and over. ​Class Fee is $30 for Members ($40 for Non-members) plus a Materials fee of $5. Students to bring some additional supplies (list available) and a reference photo (optional). Instructor will provide plenty of examples and photo references to work from.  Minimum to hold class: 3/ Maximum: 8. Please register by July 7, 2024.
