 Introduction to Acrylics 
 
June 28, 29 & 30, 2023, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 1:00 to 3:00 pm
Instructor: Athena A. Rhodes
Learn to paint with acrylics on canvas with three consecutive 2-hour sessions.  No Experience Necessary! You will learn: 1) to tone a canvas, 2) block in your subject, 3) basic techniques of mixing colors and 4) brushwork techniques. This class is for beginning/intermediate students 16 years old and over. Please register by June21. Class Fee is $75 for Members, $85 for Non-members plus a Materials fee of $25.  All paint, canvas and brushes supplied by instructor. Instructor will provide a color photo reference for students to paint from in class.
 
 
Needle Felting - “Catch the Wave” 
June 29, 2023, Thursday 5:30 to 7:30pm
Instructor: Sandee Darden
Go coastal and create a magnificent wave painting… using only a needle and wool! This fun class is for beginner to intermediate felters ages 14 and up.  NO STRESS! Instructor will supply you and guide you step by step. Class fee is $35 for members ($45 non-members) plus $15 for supplies including needle, wool and hoop for hanging. Please sign up by June 27, 2023

Digital Photography – Take Better Pictures

Learn all the amazing things your camera is capable of that you never knew were possible!  We will cover basic camera mechanics, shooting modes, and flash.  Photographers will learn the fundamentals of exposure and the relationship of shutter speed, f-stop, and ISO setting. Composition techniques will be explained and demonstrated with an opportunity to practice what you learn.  Last class will be image review and critique. Through lecture and hands-on photography, you will leave this class with the confidence to take control of your camera to create outstanding photographs.

Beginner/Intermediate Introduction to Acrylics 
July 12, 13 & 14, 2023, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 10AM to 12PM

FUNdamentals of Watercolor Painting for Tweens and Teens
Wednesday/Thursday (Two days) 1 to 4 pm

Knowing the best paper, paint, and brush for your painting project is key to having fun with watercolors. Designed for beginners, this two session workshop can also help those with some experience who may want to review watercolor basics. Topics covered include the color wheel, different types of paint, using just primary paints to create many colors, water control, textures, and special techniques with watercolor pencils.
All supplies will be provided, including classroom use of brushes and professional quality paints.
Class fee is $75 for members ($85 for non-members) for each 2-day session plus a materials fee of $5.  For students ages 12 to 16. Register by Wednesday the week before class to reserve your seat.

Learn the basics or continue adding to your knowledge of acrylic painting. This class is for beginning/intermediate students 16 years old and over. Please register by August 10th. Class Fee is $75 for Members, $85 for Non-members plus a Materials fee of $25.  All paint, canvas and brushes supplied by instructor. Instructor will provide a color photo reference for students to paint from in class.
