A perennial favorite when all art league members exhibit their newest and best artwork. 

During the month of July, visitors are encouraged to vote for the “People’s Choice” Awards to be announced in August.  Free admission to the gallery of the Arts Center @ 319, Monday through Saturday 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday Noon to 4 pm

 

 

 

 

 Resident artist Diane Greenhalgh teaches fundamental drawing principles, painting and color theory for young artists ages 6 and up. Each month new projects will be offered to advance students’ skill and knowledge. Fee is $60 per 3-day session for members of the Isle of Wight Arts League, and $70 per 3-day session for non-members. Prior registration two days before first class is required. Students will complete a strung bangle, a spiral rope patterned bracelet, a 20” bead embroidered chain with focal bead and 3 pairs of earrings in four days of instruction. Projects will be worked with sterling silver findings and Czech and Japanese glass beads. Full course description and photos of projects are available to view on our website. This beginner level workshop is suitable for students ages 13 and up through adult.  Learn to paint with acrylics on canvas with three consecutive 2-hour sessions.  No Experience Necessary! You will learn: 1) to tone a canvas, 2) block in your subject, 3) basic techniques of mixing colors and 4) brushwork techniques. This class is for beginning students 16 years old and over. Please register by July 19. Class Fee is $75 for Members, $85 for Non-members plus a Materials fee of $25.  All paint, canvas and brushes supplied by instructor. Stained Glass for Beginners – Copper Foil Technique

 

Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays 1 to 3 pm for 2 weeks

Instructor:  Heidi Wurm

 

A 2 week session that will teach the fundamentals of the copper foil technique

Each student will create a suncatcher and a small panel in class.

Students 18 years old and up.
